Legacy Conference

The mission of the Legacy Conference is to encourage and equip Christians toward greater love and faithfulness to Christ and His Word. Powerful preaching, stimulating worship, warm fellowship, and a well-stocked conference book table are the highlights of this annual event. The Legacy Conference is a ministry of Twin City Bible Church.

 


2023 Conference:

We are excited to welcome back Dr. Ian Hamilton and to welcome for the first time Pastor Don Green to speak on the topic of The Glory of the Son. This is sure to be a rich time of biblical exposition, fellowship, and musical worship. Coffee pour-over stations and a wealth of heavily-discounted resources in the book tent will once again be highlights of the 2023 conference.

Guest Speakers

Ian Hamilton is president of Westminster Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Newcastle, England, trustee and adjunct professor at Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Greenville, S.C., and for many years served as a trustee with the Banner of Truth Trust. He is author of several books, including Words from the Cross, Our Heavenly Shepherd, and The Faith-Shaped Life. He is married to Joan, and they have four children.

 

 

Don Green brings a diverse background to the pastorate. He graduated from Indiana University Law School and was a litigation attorney in Chicago for several years before leaving his practice to pursue ministry training. He completed his Master of Divinity and Master of Theology degrees with highest honors at The Master’s Seminary. His academic work led to a position as a Greek instructor to men preparing for pastoral ministry, a role he held for six years. Don is ordained by Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California. He pastored GraceLife, a group of more than 600 adults, from 2005-2012. He simultaneously served as the Managing Director of Grace to You, where he oversaw the daily operations of John MacArthur’s international media ministry. Don is known as a clear and passionate Bible teacher, as well as a personal and loving shepherd. Don has preached at churches and conferences around the world in addition to publishing several academic articles on biblical themes. Don is married to Nancy, and the Lord has blessed them with six children.

2021 Conference:

We were grateful to welcome Dr. Mike Riccardi for our 2021 Legacy Conference, October 22-24. He preached a series of sermons around the topic of The Glory of Salvation.

Mike Riccardi has served on staff at Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, CA since 2010. He currently serves as the pastor of Local Outreach Ministries, which includes overseeing Fundamentals of the Faith classes, eight foreign language outreach Bible studies, and evangelism in nearby jails, rehab centers, and in the local neighborhood. Mike earned his B.A. in Italian and his M.Ed. in Foreign Language from Rutgers University, and his M.Div. and Th.M. from The Master’s Seminary, where he is currently pursuing his Ph.D. and teaching as a faculty associate in the theology department. He also has the privilege of serving alongside Phil Johnson as co-pastor of the GraceLife fellowship group at Grace Church. Mike and his wife, Janna, have two children.

Anthony Kidd is the Pastor of Preaching at Community of Faith Bible Church in South Central Los Angeles. He has served as a Professor at Los Angeles Bible Training School since 2000. Anthony was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. After completing high school he attended Washington State University on a basketball scholarship and graduated in 1990. He completed his Master’s of Divinity degree in 2001 at The Master’s Seminary. Anthony and his wife, Sherry, have five children: Jonathan Paul, Isaiah Andrew, Mikayla Rose, Julia Grace, and Timothy James. Anthony contributed a chapter to the book “Secret Sex War: A Battle Cry for Purity,” published by Moody Press. His passion for God’s glory, the preaching of His Word, and love for Christ’s Church is best summed up in Anthony’s life verse, “For Ezra had set his heart to study the Law of the Lord and to practice it and to teach his statutes and ordinances in Israel,” Ezra 7:10.

2019 - Living by Faith

We are blessed this year by guest speakers Dr. Rick Holland and Dr. Ian Hamilton.

Ian Hamilton currently serves as Associate Minister of Smithton Free Church in Inverness, Scotland. He has ministered the Word around the globe and authored several books. Pastor Hamilton serves on the boards of Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary and lectures in Church History at Edinburgh Theological Seminary. He is a Trustee of the Banner of Truth and the editor of the Banner magazine. He is married with four children.

Rick Holland served at Grace Community Church for twenty-five years under Dr. John MacArthur and shepherding the college and singles ministry. Rick authored Uneclipsing the Son and has contributed chapters to other books and written multiple theological journal articles. He serves on the faculty of The Expositor’s Seminary and serves as Senior Pastor of Mission Road Bible Church in Kansas City. He and his wife, Kim, have three sons: Luke, John, and Mark.

2017 - Grace Alone

2017 gave us the opportunity to hear from Tom Pennington and Dr. Richard Caldwell.

Tom Pennington has served as Pastor-Teacher at Countryside Bible Church since October 2003. Prior to arriving in Texas, he served 16 years at Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California, including as an elder. He spent his last four years there as Senior Associate Pastor and as personal assistant to John MacArthur. Prior to that, he served as Managing Director of Grace to You, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the international radio, tape, publications, and internet ministry.

Tom completed his B.A. and M.A. at Bob Jones University and served as a member of the faculty while taking additional Ph.D. classes in New Testament Interpretation. In 2013, he received an honorary Doctor of Divinity (D.D.) from The Master’s College, now The Master's Seminary.

Tom’s teaching ministry is featured on The Word Unleashed®. In addition to his role as Pastor-Teacher, he is actively involved internationally in training pastors in expository preaching. Tom and his wife, Sheila, have three children, Lauren, Katie, and Jessica.

Dr. Richard Caldwellis Pastor-Teacher of Founders Baptist Church. He has served at Founders since June of 1998, coming to the church after a 10 year pastorate in Elgin, Texas. His passion and gifting lies in the area of verse-by-verse exposition of God’s word.

Pastor Caldwell holds an M.Div. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a D.Min. from The Master’s Seminary. He also serves as the campus pastor of The Expositors Seminary, which has a campus at Founders Baptist Church.

He and his wife, Jacque. have been married since May of 1983 and have four children, Richie, Amber Ramirez (married to Nathan Ramirez), Chris, and Reagan (married to Sydney).


2016 - Christ Alone

In 2016 we were blessed to have two speakers, Dr. Steven J. Lawson and Anthony Kidd, for this conference. 

Dr. Steven J. Lawsonis founder and president of OnePassion Ministries, a ministry designed to equip and energize a new generation of Bible expositors. The focus of Dr. Lawson’s ministry is the verse-by-verse exposition of God’s Word. He is the author of more than twenty books, the most recent being The Daring Mission of William Tyndale, The Evangelistic Zeal of George Whitefield, The Kind of Preaching God Blesses, and The Heroic Boldness of Martin Luther. Dr. Lawson is a Teaching Fellow with Ligonier Ministries, Professor of Preaching at The Master’s Seminary, Professor in residence for Truth Remains, and Executive Editor for Expositor magazine. He is also on the board of The Master’s College and Seminary, and Ligonier Ministries. Steve and his wife Anne have three sons and a daughter.

2015 - Faith Alone

In 2015 we had the pleasure of having Phil Johnson as our keynote speaker.

Phil Johnson is the executive director of Grace to You. He has been closely associated with John MacArthur since 1981 and edits most of John’s major books. Phil also maintains several popular websites, including The Spurgeon Archive, The Hall of Church History, and the Pyromaniacs blog. He is an ordained elder and pastor at Grace Community Church. Phil and his wife, Darlene, have three adult children and five grandchildren.
